The new GA4 version offered functionalities and a completely different structure to what was known at the time. <\/p>\n<p>Among the most transformed aspects of Google Analytics 4 are the <strong>Tag Manager, events and conversions<\/strong>, among other very interesting features that have been integrated into websites and applications.<\/p>\n<p>We will analyze all these parameters below, but first, what is Google Analytics 4?<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-center fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-center\" style=\"margin:0;\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What is Google Analytics 4?<\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>Google Analytics 4 is the new Google property that allows you to analyze user behavior on a website. Unlike the previous version, Universal Analytics, this new version additionally allows you to analyze a website and an application in the same tool. Until then, the Firebase tool was used to analyze the traffic of an App.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-3 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\"><strong><span lang=\"es\">Google Analytics 4: Tag Manager, customized and automatic events<\/span><\/strong><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>In this new version of Google Analytics 4, you can create and configure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Automatic events<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced measurement events, which may be enabled<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Custom or recommended events, created using code or Google Tag Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before continuing, it is very important to remember the definition of an event according to <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/analytics\/devguides\/collection\/ga4\/tag-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;An event is any distinct action that occurs at a particular time associated with a user in your application or on your website, e.g. <em>page_view, add_to_cart, form_submit.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Google Analytics 4 data can be<strong> analyzed in real time or from the events section.<\/strong> However, the data is not updated instantaneously, as it requires a short lapse of time to be reflected.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-4 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-center fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-center\" style=\"margin:0;\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>GA4 automatic events<\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p>One of the new features is the automatic events of Google Analytics 4, without the need to create them through Google Tag Manager or code as required by the old version of Universal Analytics.<\/p>\n<p>The automatic events must be <strong>activated in the Google Analytics 4 panel<\/strong> as the web page or the mobile App is activated and configured.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-5 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-center fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-center\" style=\"margin:0;\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Types of automatic events GA4<\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><p>As in the Firebase tool, <strong>Google Analytics 4 generates events automatically.<\/strong> Something that is very important to keep in mind is that, just because the event exists, it does not mean that it is of interest to us. Therefore, it is important to<strong> always analyze the most significant metrics<\/strong> for our project according to the price objectives, to be able to observe and analyze adequately that the established strategy is working. <\/p>\n<p>Next, we will see some examples of automatic events created in Google Analytics 4 such as <em>video_start<\/em> or <em>scroll<\/em>. In this case, the user defines which events he wants to include in his Google Analytics dashboard and which not. <\/p>\n<p>Enhanced measurement events provide <strong>more detailed information about user interaction<\/strong> with website content. First, there are the measurement events: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Page views<\/strong><em>(page_view<\/em>): are activated each time a page is loaded.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exit clicks<\/strong><em>(click-throughs<\/em>): these are triggered each time a user clicks away from the website.<\/li>\n<li><strong>File downloads<\/strong><em>(file_download<\/em>): are triggered when a user clicks on different types of files such as documents, presentations, audios&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See all <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/analytics\/answer\/9216061?hl=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enhanced edition events<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that these data only affect web data flows and do not take into account the limit of custom events that can be created, which we will see below:<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-7 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-center fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-center\" style=\"margin:0;\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>How to set up events in GA4 enhanced measurement?<\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-7\"><p>Enhanced measurement events in GA4 can be configured when you activate the Google Analytics 4 property, but also later. Google does not include them in the suggested events, as they are not offered automatically. Google has compiled a list of recommended events, so if you are still not sure what your goals are, you can consult the list of <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/analytics\/answer\/9267735\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recommended events<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>These events are collected in the same panel as the automatic or enhanced measurement events. However, they need to be configured using Google Tag Manager by code or as we will see below:<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-9 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-center fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-center\" style=\"margin:0;\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Create custom events for GA4 with Google Tag Manager<\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-9\"><p>The new version of Google Analytics 4 eliminates the difference between web and mobile analytics, favoring the joint use of tags. This type of tag allows you to define GA cookies by sending automatic or enhanced measurement events, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-11 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\"><strong>All pages&#8221; configuration label<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-11\"><p>It is important to note that before creating any custom event using Google Tag Manager you must activate the Google Analytics 4 configuration tag in &#8220;All pages&#8221;. This will activate all the pages that we want to collect data automatically. In this case, &#8220;All pages&#8221;, as we have seen in the previous image. Once you have configured the first tag, you can configure as many custom tags as you wish, as the data will be collected correctly.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-12 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\"><strong>Other fields to configure<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-13\"><p>When creating configuration tags, additional fields can be optionally configured. First, in the user properties (up to 25 additional user properties per Google Analytics 4 property). <\/p>\n<p>Secondly, in the advanced settings and label sequencing panel, we will see more details below.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-13 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-center fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-center\" style=\"margin:0;\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Google Analytics 4 Event Tag: Tag Manager<\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-14\"><p>If you want to create event labels in GA4, you must follow the same steps as in the creation of configuration labels. In case you want them to be more customized, the user can fill in the event parameters and user properties fields, if desired. <\/p>\n<p>Before creating these tags, you must have Google Tag Manager installed.
